IEEE Bangladesh Section in collaboration with IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Bangladesh Chapter and Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE NSU Student Branch Chapter organized a workshop named “Machine Learning Algorithms for Robotics and Automation” on 19th April from 4 pm to 7 pm at ECE Computer Lab, North South University.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Sheikh Anowarul Fattah, Professor, Dept. of EEE, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Chair, IEEE Robotics & Automation Society Bangladesh Chapter, Nominations and Appointments Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section. He was assisted by A. Shafin Mahadi, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE, United International University, Abul Al Arabi, Research Assistant, Independent University, Bangladesh, Arnab Bhattacharjee, Lecturer, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Amit Kumar Kundu, Lecturer, Uttara University.
This Machine Learning workshop provided participants a unique learning experience on the cutting edge of technical innovation today. Engineering students from different universities participated to learn algorithms practically. 16 IEEE members & 11 non-IEEE members, making a total of 27 students participated in the workshop.
Starting from fundamental theories of machine learning, some recent developments and applications we deeply discussed by Dr. Sheikh Anowarul Fattah & A. Shafin Mahadi. Students were given practical training on algorithms using MATLAB by Arnab Bhattacharjee & Amit Kumar Kundu. Later on, Abul Al Arabi showed some of his developments to inspire, engage, encourage, in a friendly manner with huge interaction.
Zakaria Haider, Secretary, IEEE Bangladesh Section & Dr. Lamia Iftekhar, Faculty Advisor, Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE NSU Student Branch Chapter were also present at the event.
Upon completion of the workshop, the participants were awarded certificates by Dr. Sheikh Anowarul Fattah and other instructors.
