The “Open-Air Retreat Competition and Tour” took place on 22nd December 2024 organized by IEEE Bangladesh Section at Coral Station Restaurant, Coral Beach Patowartek, Inani, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. This event brought together various student branch members of the IEEE Bangladesh Section with authors, session chairs, volunteers, and committee members of ICCIT 2024, creating a collaborative and dynamic environment for brainstorming and idea-sharing.
Held at the scenic Marine Drive tour, the competition featured team-based participation, with each group tasked with proposing a real-life AI-driven solution that could significantly improve our lives. The competition’s central theme was “AI Driven Solutions in Major Areas – Challenges and Opportunities.”
Participants, who were grouped in teams of up to three members, had to ensure diversity within the team, with no members from the same university or family. The challenge required teams to create a compelling pitch addressing three critical points:
- How the AI application could improve life.
- Its sustainability and feasibility.
- Cost and affordability.
Each team had 3 minutes to present their ideas, with the top 5 teams selected to give a final 2-minute presentation. A rapid Q&A session followed, leading to the selection of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
The event had an estimated 180 participants, including university students, faculty members, and industry professionals. The Brainstorming TechNet Sessions (Technical Networking) offered a platform for participants to meet new people, exchange ideas, and discuss how AI can help address real-world problems.
A heartfelt thank you to the IEEE Bangladesh Section, the organizer of ICCIT 2024, and all the volunteers, participants, and committee members who contributed to the success of this event. Special appreciation goes to those who participated in the competition and made the event a memorable and productive experience.
