IEEE Smart City: Bangladesh perspective
With more than 3000 members and growing, IEEE Bangladesh Section has garnered significant recognition in IEEE Worldwide.
In the last year alone, IEEE Bangladesh Section has filed petitions to form five new IEEE technical society chapters in Bangladesh section:
- Industry Applications Society (IAS),
- Robotics and Automation Society (RAS),
- Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT),
- Computer Society (CS) and
- Signal Processing Society (SPS).
Oldest chapter of IEEE Bangladesh section, Power and Energy Society (PES) chapter currently has close to 500 members which is the largest among all the 9 society chapters in Bangladesh.
Spanning 36 Student Branches, 9 technical Society chapter, globally best award-winning Women in Engineering (WIE) and active Young Professional (YP) Affinity Groups, IEEE Bangladesh Section has own “Outstanding Section Membership Recruitment Performance” for three years in a row 2015, 2016 and 2017. Section Activities and Programs has made IEEE Bangladesh Section a role model not only in the IEEE Region 10 but the world in general.
This year signifies the 25th year in the journey of IEEE Bangladesh Section.
