IEEE Bangladesh Section Appreciation and Award Ceremony 2024
The Intra BUET ROBO Challenge and Project Showcase of BUET Robotics Society was successfully held at the Institute of Robotics and Automation, BUET (IRAB) on November 29, 2024. This event was jointly organized by IEEE Bangladesh Section and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Bangladesh Chapter and co-located with the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet of Things (RAAICON 2024). The theme of the competition is “Engineering the Future: Building Tomorrow’s Solutions Today”
Focusing on the following theme, this event provides a platform only for BUET students to explore robotics and compete in three exciting segments. It fosters innovation, teamwork, and prepares the next generation of robotics enthusiasts.
Industrial Line Tracker is a high-speed competition where autonomous robots navigate a maze using sensors. It tests speed, precision, and control algorithms, providing a hands-on learning experience in robotics.
The competition was intense and exciting. Two rounds were conducted and after the qualification, 3 teams were selected as winner, 1st-runner up and 2nd-runner up respectively.
Soccer Bot Challenge is a dynamic competition where robots are designed to play soccer, aiming to score while following rules. Robots demonstrate agility, precision, and strategy. It tests robotics and programming skills, emphasizing teamwork and quick problem-solving.
Project Showcasing is an innovative segment where participants present robotics projects tackling real-world challenges. Through interactive demos and prototypes, they highlight technical skills, creativity, and the practical impact of robotics, fostering innovation and knowledge-sharing.
The judges evaluated participants based on set criteria and praised the event’s organization. They concluded by awarding prizes to the winners, recognizing their outstanding performances.
A heartfelt thank you to the BUET Robotics Society, IEEE Bangladesh Section, IEEE RAS Bangladesh Chapter, the organizer of RAAICON 2024, and all the volunteers, participants, and committee members who contributed to the success of this event.
