IEEE Smart City: Bangladesh perspective
IEEE Bangladesh Section along with IEEE International Islamic University Chittagong(IIUC) Student Branch and Faculty of Science & Engineering (FSE), IIUC successfully organized a seminar titled “Interactive sessions with IEEE Bangladesh Section Chief Executives” on 21st April, 2018 at the seminar room of Central Auditorium, International Islamic University Chittagong(IIUC).
The event was conducted by Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Professor, Dept. of EEE, BUET and Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section, Mr. Yeasir Arafat, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, BUET and Vice-Chair (Activity), IEEE Bangladesh Section, Mr. Mohammed Zakaria Haider, Grameen Phone Limited and Secretary, IEEE Bangladesh Section.
The event was conducted into three sessions. At first, Mr. Zakaria Haider gave his speech on what is IEEE and what IEEE does, the past and present membership & achievement statistics of IEEE Bangladesh Sections. He also talked about the various student branch, affinity groups & chapters of IEEE Bangladesh Section.
Then Mr. Yeasir Arafat talked conducted his session on the scopes of Volunteering & IEEE VOLTE Program.
Finally, Ms. Celia Shahnaz gave her informative speech on the latest trends and research topics of “Biomedical Engineering”. She also talked about the scopes of Biomedical Engineering & her research works in her session.
The sessions were ended with Vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Monirul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering, IIUC followed by refreshment for the participants.
Around 50 participants (35 IEEE Members) attended the event where students from different disciplines learned about IEEE, IEEE Bangladesh Sections activities, IEEE VOLTE Program & latest research trends in Biomedical Engineering. The students were benefitted from the interactive sessions.
