CELEBRATING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
IEEE Bangladesh Section, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society-Bangladesh Chapter & Institute of Robotics and Automation, BUET (IRAB), in collaboration with IEEE BUET Student Branch organized a IEEE R10 Robot Competition for Managing Climate Change (Stage-1) at IICT Virtual Class Room 705, ECE Building, BUET, Dhaka, Bangladesh on 24th June 2023.
Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah, General Chair of the Robot Competition for Managing Climate Change (Stage-1) Competition and Vice Chairperson of IEEE RAS Bangladesh Chapter delivered the opening speech. The presence, support and guidance of Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chairperson of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) and Chairperson of IEEE RAS Bangladesh Chapter was instrumental in making the event a success. Engr Shohel Rana was the local organisizing chair of this event.
IEEE student branch members from various Bangladeshi universities participated in the event to showcase their innovative robot-ICS-based solutions to combat climate change. Teams passionately presented their innovative ideas that can reduce human suffering in responding to natural disasters, mitigating the threat of climate change, employing robotics and automation to combat climate change.
The top three teams of the competition are respectively 1st place – Team Hawkeye, 2nd place – Team UAP and 3rd place – Last Minute Planners. We congratulate the winning team and wish them all the best for the next round. We thank all competing teams for participating in this competition. Performed duty as judge of the program respectively: Dr. Lamia Iftekhar, Dr. Naruttam Kumar, Mr. Redwan.
The winners of the competition received certificates from IEEE Bangladesh Section Technical Experts Forum keynote speaker and chief guest Professor Saifur Rahman, IEEE President and CEO.
