IEEE Membership Development Week 2016 Organized by IEEE BUET Student Branch

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]From 27^th March 2016 to 30^th March 2016, IEEE BUET Student Branch organized a week-long campaign entitled “Membership Development Week 2016” in order to promote and boost IEEE & IEEE BUET Student Branch and its activities. A designated booth was set up on the ground floor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Building, Bangladesh University and Technology (BUET). The focus of the drive was to introduce IEEE and IEEE BUET Student Branch to prospective members and inform them of the benefits and resources available to IEEE Student Members and future activities of IEEE BUET Student Branch. IEEE BUET Student Branch facilitates online payment of Membership Subscription fees and on spot registration.

The week-long campaign saw the overwhelming response and participation from the very first day. Volunteers informed and promoted the benefits of becoming an IEEE Student Member and answered inquiries. The campaign was complemented by social media promotion and interaction through our IEEE BUET Student Branch, Facebook Page. Alongside membership recruitment the campaign also focused on past achievements and future activities of IEEE BUET Student Branch.

The campaign was a huge success and a total of 219 new Members completed their registration through the Membership Drive. We especially saw huge response and interest from freshman students. It is also interesting to note that the campaign also attracted students from outside the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
