IEEE Bangladesh Section in collaboration with IEEE Jahangirnagar University Student Branch organized a day-long event “IEEE Bangladesh Section Vitality Enhancement Series Event 1” on 16 May, 2018 at IIT, JU. It was the pioneering event of the IEEE Bangladesh Section Vitality Enhancement Event Series.
The event included a workshop on IoT and a Membership Drive. The IoT workshop was conducted by Rakibul Islam Chowdhury, Humanitarian Activity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section conducted the membership drive session. Yeasir Arafat, Vice-Chair (Activity), IEEE Bangladesh Section and Raihan Ur Rashid, Publicity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section were present as honorable speakers. The event started at 11 AM. 51 participants including both IEEE members and non-members participated in the event.
The instructor of the workshop, Rakibul Islam Chowdhury, Humanitarian Activity Co-ordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section started the workshop with an informative speech on the basic structure of IoT and theoretical studies of networks. After all the participants received necessary components, the teams were assigned to hands-on activities and tasks by the instructor.
Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section started the session by giving a brief speech on IEEE Bangladesh Section and its recent activities. She also discussed the achievements of IEEE Bangladesh Section. She explained the benefits and ways of being an IEEE member. She showed the pathway of acquiring numerous skills through IEEE membership.
Then, Yeasir Arafat, Vice-Chair (Activity), IEEE Bangladesh Section, shared his valuable thoughts and experiences about the necessity and steps of proper team building process. He explained how team building can be the key to any organization’s success.
After that, Raihan Ur Rashid, Publicity Co-ordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section talked about the function of publicity for IEEE Bangladesh Section. He gave a brief speech about how publicity is essential for reaching out to all the university branches and developing better co-ordination among them and IEEE Bangladesh Section.
Dr. Md. Wahiduzzaman, Counselor, IEEE JU Student Branch honored the guests with tokens of appreciation. The event concluded at 5 pm with a group photo of all the participants with the guests.
