The biggest departmental event of the department of EEE of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology called the ‘EEE Day 2019’ was held and observed by the students and teachers alike with great enthusiasm and excitement. The three-day long phenomenon spanned over 22nd to 24th of January and comprised of an array of events filled with versatility and active participation.
Every year EEE Day comes with its vivid colours and display of talent of the students of the EEE department in various spheres. The festival included job seminars, gaming fest, sports tournaments, robotics competition, cultural night and several other events.
A robotics competition, ‘Robowars 2019’ was held at ECE Premise, BUET on January 24th and was organized by IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) BUET Student Chapter. The strategic partner for the event was IEEE Bangladesh Section. This was the very first event of IEEE RAS BUET Student Chapter after its emergence on 2018. ‘SUST Robosapiens’ from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology came out on top to claim the crown. ‘ARG Infinity’ from American International University- Bangladesh were the runners-up of the event.
IEEE Bangladesh Section also supported the organizing of a job seminar where Ulkasemi, Bkash and Summit Communication Limited carried out a campus recruitment campaign.
An online MATLAB Contest powered by IoT for Bangladesh was also organized alongside the events. All the events were supported by IEEE Bangladesh Section.
Another regular event of EEE Day is the Inter University Project Showcasing Competition. This event was organized by IEEE BUET Student Branch with the support of IEEE Bangladesh Section. 20 teams and 80 participants from different universities participated in the project show in two different categories. 4 teams were awarded with certificates and prize money in the award giving ceremony.
A poster presentation competition was also held at the final day of the EEE Day managed by IEEE WIE BUET. There were 18 teams each comprising of 3 members. The topics of the poster included humanitarian, social safety related projects.
For the first time in the hisory of EEE Day EEE olympiad was organized by IEEE BUET IAS, EDS, SPS, EMBS, PES Chapter. More than 50 particiapnts from different universities participated in the event.
The conclusion of this massive festivity was marked with a grand cultural night where the students showed their prowess in performing a diverse set of entertaining acts.
