IEEE Bangladesh Section Appreciation and Award Ceremony 2024
The two-day 3rd International Conference on Power, Electrical, Electronics and Industrial Applications (PEEIACON-2024) organized by IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE Industrial Application Society Bangladesh Chapter at the conference room of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) on 12-13 September 2024.
On September 12, 2024 at 9:30 am, the conference’s opening ceremony was addressed as the chief guest by Prof. Dr. M. Saifur Rahman, 2023 IEEE President, Joseph Loring Professor & Director Virginia Tech Advanced Research InstituteArlington, Virginia, USA. Prof. M. Rezwan Khan, Emeritus Professor of United International University, delivered a speech as the special guest.
Other speakers included, Conference General Chair Prof. Celia Shahnaz (BUET), and Technical Chair Prof. Shaikh A. Fattah (BUET) and Prof. Md. Selim Hossain (RUET), Organizing Chair Prof. Md. Faruk Hossain (RUET), IEEE Bangladesh Section Chair Prof. Mohammed Moshiul Hoque (CUET).
Keynote speakers at the international conference included Prof. Dr. Hiroyuki Okada, Dept. of Nano and Functional Material Science, Graduate School of Engineering for Research, University of Toyama, Japan, Prof. Mukti M. Rana, Professor of Engineering Division of Physical and Computational Sciences & Optical Science Center for Applied Research Delaware State University, Dover, DE, USA; Prof. Nowshad Amin, Professor, Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, American International University-Bangladesh, Dhaka, Bangladesh and Dr. Rajan Kapur, President, IEEE Smart Village, Boulder, CO, USA.
Researchers and students from home and abroad participated in this conference online. 456 research papers were submitted from home and abroad, out of which 190 research papers were selected for presentation after completing the review process. Along with the paper presentation, an idea contest and an innovative project sourcing competition were held for students. Students from IEEE Student Branches of various universities worked as technical assistants in the conference.
In addition, a co-located flagship event of IEEE Bangladesh Section International Industrial Activities Conference (INDCON) 202 was held at RUET during the conference.
On September 13, 2024 at 7:30 pm, the two-day international conference IEEE PEEIACon 2024 was end with the closing ceremony at the conference room of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, RUET.
