IEEE Bangladesh Section along with IEEE Student Branch CUET arranged a cluster of events in “A Day Long Interactive Session” on 21st April 2018 from 09:00 AM to 01:30 PM at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). Around 105 members from including 40 IEEE member from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), International Islamic University, Chittagong (IIUC) and Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU) participated in the event.
Prof Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section, Mr. Yeasir Arafat, Vice Chair(Activity), IEEE Bangladesh Section and Mohammad Zakaria Haider, Secretary, IEEE Bangladesh Section were present as the guest speakers of the session. Honorable Vice Chancellor of CUET, Prof Dr. Rafiqul Alam was the Chief Guest of the session and Prof Dr. Mohammad Moshiul Hoque, Conference Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section was present as a Special Guest.
The session was instigated with the inauguration of the IEEE CUET WIE Student Branch Affinity Group along with inauguration of a New Logo for IEEE Student Branch CUET in front of the Chief Guest and the guest speakers.
In the first speech session, Professor Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section gave a valuable speech on Scope of Bio-Medical Engineering and how the future of this field is in both global perspective and Bangladesh.
Then Mr. Yeasir Arafat, Vice Chair(Activity), IEEE Bangladesh Section took a training session on IEEE Volunteer Leadership Training Program (VoLT) for volunteers who have a true desire to learn about the broader IEEE and are considering taking leadership positions.
After that Mohammad Zakaria Haider, Secretary, IEEE Bangladesh Section talked about IEEE membership benefits. He also showed the achievements of IEEE Bangladesh Section along with the membership statistics.
There was also a Student Interactive Session where different Posters and ideas were presented by the students.
The session was concluded by givings of tokens of appreciation to honorable guests and taking group photos.
