IEEE Smart City: Bangladesh perspective
PowerBuzz 2018, organized by IEEE Power and Energy Society North South University Student Branch (PES INSB) Chapter was a composition of many segments of competitions and talk sessions that aims in bringing out the most creative plans on how to make Bangladesh a role model on using Green Energy that is, renewable energy and other eco-friendly sources.
The event was held on 9th and 10th February in the North South University premises. The main theme of the event was ‘Making Bangladesh a role model in the world by using sustainable energy production and management. The event consisted of five segments including three contests and two talk sessions. A total of around 250 students from different universities participated in this event.
Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section and Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah, Appointments and Nominations Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section, represented IEEE Bangladesh Section as guests of honor of the event.
Professor Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section, was the speaker in an invited talk. The topic of the talk “Advancing Women in Engineering in Societies and Technical Councils: Following the PES Model”. Professor Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah, Appointments and Nominations Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section, also gave an invited talk on “IEEE PES: Engaging Towards the Future”.
Md Zakaria Haider, Secretary, IEEE Bangladesh Section, Md Romael Haque, Treasurer, IEEE Bangladesh Section and Mr. Azfar Adib, Industrial Activity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section were invited as judges and guests in poster and project competitions as part of the event.
