IEEE Bangladesh Section Appreciation and Award Ceremony 2024
The 3rd IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Engineering, Computer and Information Technology for Health (BECITHCON) has been concluded successfully from 28-29 November 2024 in Southeast University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
IEEE BECITHCON 2024 jointly organized by IEEE Bangladesh Section and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society Bangladesh Chapter and hosted by Southeast University (SEU), Dhaka, Bangladesh in hybrid mode.
The conference is a platform for academic researchers and research scholars working mainly in the field of Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Signal & Image Processing, Health Informatics and others to exchange and share their experience and research results on diverse theoretical and practical problems.
Hundreds of attendees, paper presenters, keynote and invited participants, faculties and students have benefited in many ways from this conference. The total number of submissions of the papers was 197 in the conference and after a rigorous review process only 58 scientific papers were accepted and presented by the authors in online and physical technical sessions. Around 40 reviewers work hard to review the papers and each paper was reviewed by at least 2 reviewers. The acceptance rate of the papers was only 29.44%. Five Invited and keynote Speakers from different countries addressed to audience and shared knowledge and rich experience of application of ICT in health and agriculture.
In addition, IEEE Bangladesh Section, IEEE SEU Student Branch, and IEEE NSU Student Branch jointly organized the International Student-Led Conference 2024. The conference was held at the Southeast University (SEU) and North South University (NSU), Dhaka, Bangladesh as a co-located conference of the IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Engineering, Computer and Information Technology for Health 2024 (BECITHCON 2024).
Inaugural Ceremony:
The first day of conference started with Inaugural Ceremony at the Southeast University. The following representatives from IEEE Bangladesh Section (IEEE BDS), IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Bangladesh Chapter and the hosting university addressed to participants with short welcoming speeches.
The General Chairs of the IEEE BECITHCON 2024 Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz, BUET and Prof. Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, SEU expressed deep gratitude to all the organizing committee members, technical committee members, authors, faculty members, student volunteers and other related bodies. Special thanks were extended by the technical program chair Prof. Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah, BUET to the administrations, faculty members and staff of the Southeast University who worked all together to prepare an outstanding conference. Organizing chair Prof. Dr. Mohammed Moshiul Hoque, CUET express his gratitude and offer the support from IEEE BDS to the hosting university to organize conferences in future. Finally, kind thanks were expressed by the chief guest of the Inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Southeast University to IEEE BDS, IEEE EMBS BDS, organizing committee members, technical committee members, faculty members and student volunteers of Southeast University, who did impressive and dedicated work. At the end of the program, the distinguished guests were handed with honor plaques.
Concurrent Technical Sessions:
Hundreds of attendees, paper presenters, keynote and invited participants, faculties and students have benefited in many ways from this conference. 58 scientific papers were presented by authors in technical sessions that were held in Southeast University (physical and online). All accepted papers had been categorized into 9 sessions: 6 physical and 3 online sessions. There were 6-7 papers presented in each session and two session chairs were there for each session. Authors who presented their papers received certificates and the session chairs received crests as a token of appreciations.
Banquet Dinner and Closing Ceremony:
IEEE BECITHCON2024 Closing Ceremony and Banquet Dinner were held together in one of the popular restaurants, Café Rio, Gulshan, Dhaka. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, SEU and General chair Prof. Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Pro Vice Chancellor, SEU extended sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of the attendees, authors, organizing members, session chairs, reviewers, faculty members for their invaluable contributions in making this conference a great success. Also, they handed over the crest to the organizing and technical committee members.
